William Bryan Huntley, Jr.

William Bryan (Bill) Huntley, Jr. was born February 5, 1924, son of W. Bryan Huntley, Sr. and Lucy Gardner Huntley in Mt. Croghan, S.C.  He graduated from St. John’s High School in Darlington, S.C. He served three years in the Navy in WWII, and graduated from Furman University in 1950. He retired from Liberty Life Insurance Company after 28 years of service 

He was a member of Lee Road United Methodist Church in Taylors, S.C. for 62 years. His hobbies included camping, fishing, woodworking and gardening. 

He was preceded in death by his parents listed above and his brother Johnny Huntley and his sister-in-law, Polly Huntley. 

He is survived by his loving wife, Ann McAlhany Huntley, to whom he was married for almost 74 years, his sons, W. Bryan Huntley, III (Pam) of Myrtle Beach, SC,  Edward M. Huntley (Robin) of Florence, SC, David C. Huntley (Kristin) of Hendersonville, NC and daughter, Francena Jepertinger (John) of Florence, SC. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Josh Huntley (Sarah), Ryan Huntley (Katie), Taylor Huntley, Chandler Huntley, Aubrey Huntley Patrick (Heath), Shelby Huntley Pope (Nick), Will Huntley, Matthew Jepertinger (Tarah), Hudson Jepertinger and great grandchildren, Anna, Ben, Caroline, Ella Judd, Cannon, William McAlhany and Andie Rae. 

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, July 28, 2023 at Cain Calcutt Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at the funeral home.  

The family would like to extend special thanks to his caregiver, Darlene Briggs, and his Hospice nurse, Lakeisha Cooper, for the excellent care given to Mr. Huntley. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lee Road United Methodist Church, 1377 East Lee Road, Taylors, SC 29687.
