Tracy W. Daniels

Tracy W. Daniels, Sr., 77, of Effingham, passed from this life to Heaven on Friday, April 9, 2021, after a long illness. Born in Dillon County, Tracy spent his early years on a farm, the second youngest of 13 children.  He graduated from Marion High School, and later earned his certification as a Master Plumber from Florence Darlington Technical College. He owned and operated Daniels Plumbing Company in Florence much of his adult life. Tracy served the Lord faithfully for over 20 years, writing poems that have inspired many.  He dearly loved his family, and was an avid gardener, fisherman and USC Gamecock fan. He also enjoyed playing guitar and singing.

Tracy was predeceased by his parents, Ralph J. and Lillie Mae Woodle Daniels; his son Tracy W. Daniels, Jr., known as Will; and son-in-law Rev. Jimmy Perdue.   Six brothers predeceased him: William Victor, Alton, Rembert, Ed, Roy, and Robert, as well as four sisters: Mildred, Lucy, Jenny and Frankie.

Survivors include his daughters Jo Ann Perdue Self of Florence and Sherry Daniels Coker of Turbeville, their husbands Mark Self and James Coker; granddaughters Angela Coker of Columbia and Seana Self of Florence. He is survived by two sisters Shirley Lee of Waxhaw, NC, and Carolyn Chilton of Florence; and sister-in-law Frances Daniels of Marion.    

Special heartfelt thanks are sent to all the friends and family who encouraged Tracy over the years through good times and bad, who are too many to name. Your support let him know he was not forgotten and made you a vital part of his ministry to others. These included his pastor, mentor and friend Rev. Fred L. Huth, Jr., Faith Bible Church in Lynchburg, and the Effingham Presbyterian Church.

 A viewing will be held at Cain Calcutt Funeral Home from 3 – 5 pm Tuesday, April 13th. The graveside service will be at 11:00 am Wednesday, April 14th at Hicks Cemetery 649 East Friendfield Rd., Coward, SC.  Covid 19 protocols will be in place; the family asks that face coverings be worn and social distancing observed at all times.
