Timothy Blane Sports

Timothy Blane Sports, 63, of Florence, SC, passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at MUSC Charleston.  He was born in Florence, a son of Alice Joye Sports Zimmermann.  Tim worked with NAPA Auto Parts and attended Palmetto Street Church of God.  He was also a retired fireman having worked with the Lake View Fire Department.  There were so many things Tim enjoyed, riding his motorcycle, fishing and keeping an aquarium, collecting guns and knives and working on cars.  He loved music and played many instruments.  He was a great cook and enjoyed cooking for others. 

Tim is survived by his mother, Alice Joye Sports Zimmermann; his wife of 2 years, Susan Gainey Sports; son, Timothy Blane Sports, Jr. (Nicole); two daughters, Christina Reaves (Steven) and Sierra Sports Smith (Joshua); six grandchildren, Caden Sports, Nathan Jones, Bexlee Reaves, Tolan Reaves, Irelee Smith and Shepherd Smith; a great grandchild, Daniel Jones; three step-children, Mitchell Dean Driggers (Kelsey Kirby, fiancee), Chase Driggers (Claudia Stewart, fiancee) and Colby Driggers; two step-grandchildren, Lily Driggers and Addy Driggers; one brother, Lawrence Madison Fraser; two nieces, Kayce Michelle Jarman and Taylor Christian Day; and his faithful canine companion, Ollie.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Palmetto Street Church of God, 3132 Palmetto St., Florence, SC 29501, directed by Cain Calcutt Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends and family immediately following the services. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Florence Area Humane Society.
