Rose Mixon Obituary

Rose Iris Bridgers Mixon, 79, of Florence, SC, passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2023.  She was born in Florence, a daughter of the late Graham Davey Bridgers and Evelyn James Bridgers.  She is also predeceased by her husband, Thomas Clyde Mixon; a brother, Davey Bridgers and a sister and brother-in-law, Nebbie and Jimmy Worrell.  Mrs. Mixon was a lifelong member of the Florence Baptist Temple and she did administrative and secretarial work for many local businesses in the area.  She was a self-taught seamstress.

Surviving are her children, Jimmy Miles (Doreen), Sharon Miles Johnson (Johnny), Chris Miles (Lynn) and Anna Miles; grandchildren, Brandon Miles (Ashley), Brittany Hanna (Lex), Rebecca Miles, Robert Miles, Suzanne Jacobs (Adam), Hayley Childress, Butch Johnson (Lyndsey), Jason Johnson (Heather) and Jennifer Williams (Travis); eighteen great-grandchildren; siblings, Hugh Bridgers (Wanda), Sarah Hatchell (Jan) and Tootsie Moran (Richard); and a number of nieces and nephews.

A graveside service directed by Cain Calcutt Funeral Home will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 23, 2023 in the Mount Hope Mausoleum Chapel.  The family will receive friends from 10 until 11:00 AM just prior to the service at the mausoleum.
