Roland Lee Woodard Jr.

Roland Lee Woodard Jr., 85, of Florence, SC, passed away on Saturday, July 3, 2021 at his residence after an extended illness. He was born in New Baltimore, NY; formative years spent in Pamlico County, NC; the son of the late Roland Lee Woodard, Sr. and Juanita Mazyck Woodard. He served his country in the United States Air Force (stationed in Holloman AF base, NM and Okinawa, Japan) and was a PGA Golf Pro and a salesman. He was a member of Highland Park United Methodist Church, the Frances Asbury Sunday School Class and the Elks Lodge in Alamogordo, NM.

He is preceded in death in addition to his parents by a son, David Allen Woodard.

Roland is survived by his wife of 62 years, Barbara Rae Crotty Woodard, a son, Richard Lee Woodard and his wife Jean Ann; two daughters, Cynthia Ann “Cindy” Woodard and Laurie Lynn Woodard; a daughter-in-law, Shasta Ward Woodard; four grandchildren, Patrick Woodard and his wife Laura, Tyler Barnhill and her husband Taylor, Justin Allen Woodard and Ryan Weston Woodard; four great grandchildren with one on the way, Palmer, David, CharlesAnna and Scottie Lee; three sisters, Joan Barnett and her husband Mac, Nancy Edwards and her husband Buddy, Donna Jarman; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A church led memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, July 9, 2021 at Highland Park UMC. The family will receive friends from 12-1 PM one hour prior to the services at the church. Cain Calcutt Funeral Home is honored to serve the Woodard Family.
