Obituary

Petty Officer 2nd Class Conrad Anthony “Tony” Cantrell, US Navy Ret., 63, of Bishopville, SC, passed away on Friday, May 27, 2022 in the McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, SC.  Tony was born in McMinnville, TN, a son of Larry Hugh Cantrell and the late Willene Frances Locke Cantrell.  He retired from the US Navy having served his country during Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm.  Tony later worked part time in finance and was a “jack of all trades”.  He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion until his health declined.  His greatest joy was his family, which he loved grilling and cooking for.

Surviving in addition to his father is his loving wife, Peggy Susan Crocker Cantrell; two children, Yvonne Cantrell (Scott) Roberson and Kellan Dayton (Cassandra) Cantrell; two step-children, Christopher (Melissa) Starker and David (Stephanie) Starker; twelve grandchildren, Tara, Adrian and Rylee Taylor, Justin and Ryan Roberson, Christopher, Aubrey, Noah, Liam and Madeline Starker and Isadora and Ellis Cantrell; three brothers, Garrick Turner, Bradley (Rachel) Cantrell and Clayton (Melissa) Cantrell; a sister, Julie (Billy) Orne; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Cremation services are entrusted to Cain Calcutt Funeral Home.
