Nina Joe Allen

Nina Joe Allen, 74, of Florence, SC, passed away on Saturday, November 13, 2021, in the McLeod Hospice House.  She was a daughter of the late Annie Laura Cockfield Dukes and James Dewey Dukes, Jr.  She is also predeceased by her husband, Charles K. Allen; her daughter, Elizabeth Elaine Allen; two brothers, James Alton Dukes and Walter Dukes; a sister, Judith Ann McClary; and her step-mother, Mattie Lee P. Duke.

Mrs. Allen formerly worked as an associate at Walmart as well as in the commissary at the Naval Shipyard in Charleston.  She loved children, reading, cross-stitching, crossword puzzles and watching movies.  She was happiest when traveling to the mountains and spending time with her family.

Surviving are three sisters, Nancy Nettles (Leroy), Cheryl Dubose and Karen Whitlow (Dean); a brother, Pete Hogan, Sr.; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

 A private service will be held at a later date.  Cain Calcutt Funeral Home is honored to serve the Allen family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to McLeod Hospice House.
