On December 15, 1993, Megan Amanda McKenzie was delivered by the angels to Charles and Mary Lee McKenzie. On July 22, 2020, the angels came and took her home.
She was a 2012 high school graduate of South Florence High and received her cosmetology degree from Virginia College. She worked as a tax preparer for HR Block in Lake City for the past 7 years.
Megan was first and foremost a mother to three beautiful children. Sophia Grace (8), CJ (5) and Parker Lee (11mo). She adored her children and wanted nothing more than to give everything she had for them. Her children are her legacy and through them she will live on forever.
She was not only a daughter and a mother but she was a sister to Joshua Haney and Phillip McKenzie (Raylen). Megan and Phillip were a force to be reckoned with for their parents but their house was the best place for friends to gather. Megan was such a great friend and was loved by so many people. She would give her last dime to help someone and she always was there when someone needed her.
Megan is also survived by her grandparents, Cindy “Memaw” (Johnny) Valentine, Richard “Pa” Loughary, Lloyd “PaPa” (Lynn) McKenzie and Pam “Nana” (Kenny) Oliver; great grandparents, Dorothy “Great-Gran” (John) Gregory, Tiney Rachel McKenzie “Little Grandma” and Edna Miles. She is also survived by her uncles, Dickie (Becky) Loughary, TK (Tracey) Loughary, James (Nicki) McKenzie, Frankie (Lisa) McKenzie and Courtney (Abby) Oliver; her aunts, Kelly (Scottie) Nettles, Shelby McKenzie, Tina McKenzie, Rachel McKenzie and Jamie (Corney) Sweatt; her cousins, Ryan and Brandon Loughary, James and Marissa McKenzie, Conner, Carson and Kinzley Davis, Will Hinchcliffe, Thomas Sweatt, Mila, Henry and Margot McKenzie, Psymon and Sara Oliver; her most special cousin, Shane Kester and her best friend/cousin, Hallie Robinson (McLeod)
She also leaves behind so many friends that loved her dearly and will miss her so much. Everyone will always have a huge hole in their heart for Megan and life will never be the same without our Baby Angel. We will all miss you so much Megan.
A family-led memorial service will be held at Lebanon FWB Church at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 8, 2020. Visitors are welcome at the home of her parents, 809 Park Ave, Florence SC.
