Mark Perez Obituary

Mark Anthony Perez, 63, of Timmonsville, SC, died on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at McLeod Hospital from respiratory complications due to an unspecified neurodegenerative disease.

He leaves his wife Dorothy Roney-Perez of Timmonsville, SC; his son, Brad A. Perez and his wife Jamie; three daughters, Misty J. Perez Truedson and her husband David Truedson Jr., Vanessa Roney and Mike Eriksen, Christina Roney and Josh Breton; his mother, Beverly (Hebert) Perez and her partner Ronald Dillard; sister, Cindy and her husband Daniel Laperle; brother, Bruce and his wife Kathleen Perez; seven grandchildren, Elijah, Lucas, Theo, Pippa, Madison, Brendon and Devon; his beloved Papi (Ronald) and Aunt Carmen Hebert; as well as aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.

Mark was born in Holden, Ma, son of Beverly (Hebert) and the late Sixto Perez. He grew up in Hardwick and served his community as a firefighter, EMT and police officer. As a young man he dismantled cars for Rocoso’s. He built and rode motorcycles throughout his life, despite being disabled in a motorcycle accident.

Mark, more commonly known as Tony, was kind hearted, silly and outspokenly grateful, even on his “bad hair days.” He was regularly delighted by the simple pleasures in life and the connections he had with others. He looked forward to a good flea market, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his Papi. He enjoyed watching movies and rarely saw one he didn’t like. He held a special relationship with his wife and spent his days with her and their pack of sweet dogs. They enjoyed many adventures together. They took turns caring for one another and knew that laughter was good medicine.

Whether you knew him as Mark, Tony, DaddyO, Papa, Chico, Cheech or one of the nicknames given to him by the many people who loved him, know he loved you too. Tony had a big heart. He loved deeply and generously. He wasn’t always present with those he loved, but he loved you nonetheless and he always did his best.

A private burial at Mt. Benedict will be held.  Cain Calcutt Funeral Home is honored to serve the Perez family.

We’re heartbroken by Tony’s passing and appreciate the love and support from family and friends. Keep sharing his memories.
