Mamie Josephine Feagin Lee, 84, of Florence, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 21, 2020. Mrs. Lee was born in Florence, Co., daughter of the late Thomas “TF” and Dorothy Mae Frye Feagin. In 1952, she married the love of her life, William “Candy” Lee. She worked for many years as a seamstress for Marlowe’s Manufacturing and attended Redeemed Holiness Church and Effingham Church of God. Many of her passions included sewing, crafting, quilting, fishing and being outdoors taking care of her home and yard. She loved singing for the glory of God and ministering to those in song. Mrs. Lee was a woman that stood steadfast in her faith and Pentecostal religion and always taught her faith of God to her family and others by living by example of that she taught and stood for.
She was preceded in death in addition to her parents by her husband, William “Candy” Lee, a daughter, Barbara Lee Byrd; 5 brothers, Raleigh Feagin, Richard “R.M.” Feagin, Dexter Feagin, Eugene “Shorty” Feagin and Keith Feagin.
She is survived by three children, Katherine Lee Barker (Jimmy) of Effingham SC, Jean Ann Lee Barker (Michael) of Timmonsville SC, Paula Lee Jones (Joel) of Florence SC; a dear family friend whom she thought of as one of her own, Mikey Jensen of Florence SC; 17 grandchildren, Charity Barker Singletary (Tony) of Scranton, Bobby Barker (Brandie) of Pamplico, Angel Fenters (Jamie) of Turbeville, Christopher Barker (Jenny) of Hemingway, Wayne Barker Jr (Mary) of Mami, FL, Keith Barker (Mary Beth Holland) of Florence, Alicia Barker(Michael Kirby) of Florence, Ryan Byrd of Sumter, Bryan Byrd of Coward, Shana Byrd of Coward, Tera Shady (Shea) of Scranton, Tamra Russell (Justin Evans) of Florence, Kaitlyn Watson (Phillip) of Florence, Alex Jones of Chester, McKenzie Jones of Florence, Tyler Jones of Chester and Allen Jones of Chester; 3 sisters, Ester Haynes of Canton, Ga, Lutrell Waldrop of Charleston and Cindy Feagin of Florida; 3 brothers, Russell Feagin of Lake City, Charlie Feagin of Lake City and Herman Feagin of Sumter; 27 great grandchildren; 11 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 24, 2020 at Effingham Church of God directed by Cain Calcutt Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Florence Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the services at the church. Covid-19 practices will be observed.
