Lloyd Dewon Leigh, 92, of Florence, SC, passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2023. He was born in Horry County, SC, a son of the late Ruben and Alberta Wilson Leigh. He is also predeceased by his wife, Vonnie Driggers Leigh; brother, Delbert Leigh and sister, Barbara McDaniel; step-daughter, Ann Driggers.
Lloyd was a US Navy Veteran, having served from September 1950 to July 1954 as a mess cook and served during the Korean War. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Conway and was very active in the chapel at the Veteran Village. He was Mason, Shriner, and Knights of Columbus. He loved fishing when he was able.
Surviving are twin daughters, Marlene (Fred) Preston and Darlene Wilson; a step-son, Terry (Kathy) Driggers; four grandchildren, Andrew Wilson, Carol Ann (Sam) Freidet, Curtis Michael Preston and Brandon (Jennifer) Sellers; two step grand-sons, Ricky (Allison) Driggers and Eric (Kellie) Driggers; seven great-grandchildren, Marlee and Elias Preston, Ariana and Rylan Wilson, Lily Evans-Wilson, Skylar and John Sellers; fourteen step-great-grandchildren, Mitchel, Chase, Colby, Kelton, Kelsie, Lily, Addy Driggers, Brooke, Gannon and Salem Ard, Lynn and Taylor Pruitt, Waylon Oxendine and Skye Jacobs; a sister, Veda Pearl Schivera; and a number of nieces and nephews.
There are no services scheduled at this time. Cain Calcutt Funeral Home is honored to serve the Leigh family.
