Kenneth Gail Rowley, 93, of Florence, passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2021. He was born in Flint, MI to the late Merle W. and Anna Ruth Emons Rowley. He is also predeceased by his wife, Myrtle Virginia Newton Rowley and his two sons, Charles Rowley, Howard Curtis, Jr.; and one sister, Geraldine Campbell.
Mr. Rowley was a member of our country’s greatest generation having served his country in the US Army during WWII. He was retired from Union Carbide as a Tool & Die Supervisor. He was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Disabled American Veterans and a former member of the American Legion. He loved travelling.
He is survived by two daughters, Barbara Jeffcoat and Nancy (Freddie) Harrelson; one sister, Dorothy (Bob) Jobson; nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
A funeral service directed by Cain Calcutt Funeral Home will be held at 4:00 PM on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at First Free Will Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 4:00 PM at the church just prior to the service. Interment with military honors will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, February 19, 2021, in the Florence National Cemetery.
