Joyce Anne Webb

Joyce Anne Webb, 94, of Florence, SC, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 28, 2020.  She was a resident of Southland Health Care Center, and recently McLeod Hospice House.  She was born on June 3, 1926, in Boston, MA, to the late Captain Herbert W. Whitney and the late Grace (Crosby) Whitney.  Mrs. Webb was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip J. Webb, Sr. in 1980, her brother, Herbert Whitney in 1998, and a daughter at birth in 1964. 

She is survived by three sons, Michael J. (Tracey) Webb of Hagerstown, MD, Phillip J. (Bronny) Webb of New Market, MD, and Robert J. (Diana) Webb of Florence, SC, sister-in-law, Judith Whitney, nephew, Mark Whitney, as well as six grandchildren and three great-granddaughters. 

After retiring from the National Institutes of Health in 1980 and the passing of her husband a month later, she fulfilled their dream of living their retirement years in Florida when she move to North Redington Beach where she enjoyed 26 years living next door to her and her late husband’s best friends, Bev and Carlton Patterson.  She returned to Maryland for a few years before moving to South Carolina in 2011.  She later attended Florence Baptist Church and in December 2012 she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. 

A memorial service will be held at a later date.  Cain Calcutt Funeral Home is honored to assist the Webb family.
