Jeffrey "Jeff" Wayne Collins

Jeffrey “Jeff” Wayne Collins, 55, of Florence, SC, passed away on Friday, March 4, 2022.  He was born in Parkersburg, WV, a son of Betty Jane West Collins and the late Alvin Eugene Collins. 

Jeff earned his BA at Marshall University as an undergrad and went on the earn a Master’s Degree in Mathematics and Education from the University of South Carolina.  He taught mathematics in Lake City Schools and Darlington High School.  He was also an adjunct Professor with Limestone, Florence Darlington Technical College and Francis Marion University.  Jeff loved his Lord and was of the Baptist faith.  He loved woodworking, working with his hands and landscaping in his yard at home. 

Surviving, in addition to his mother, is his fiancée, April Denise Williams; two sons, Luke Wesley Collins and Kash-Warren Zane Collins; two daughters, Taylor Mackenzie Collins and Madison Prosser; two brothers, James (Iyang Kim) Collins and Steve Collins; a sister, Rebecca Collins-Shorrosh; a number of nieces and nephews and a host of special family, friends and co-workers. 

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 in the chapel of Cain Calcutt Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Florence Memorial Gardens Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the funeral home just prior to the service.
