Janis Gore Foyle

Janis Gore Foyle, 92, of Lake City, passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2023.  Ms. Foyle was born in Shalotte, NC, a daughter of the late Manon Cephus and Mina Russ Gore.  She was the owner and operator of The Potted Plant in Crystal River, Florida.  She was a member of The North Myrtle Beach First Baptist Church and the Red Hat Club.  Ms. Foyle had a love for flowers, gardening, cooking, fishing and helping others.  She loved her family dearly and will be truly missed. 

She is preceded in death in addition to her parents by her husband who passed in 2017, Emerson Knowles “Duke” Foyle, a brother, Edward M Gore and a sister, Vivian G. Williams.

Surviving is a son, Chet (Andrea) Foyle, two grandsons, Charles F. Foyle and Luke A Foyle and two sisters, Norma Hewitt and Barbara Hunn.

Graveside services for the Foyles will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, July 28, 2023 at Florence National Cemetery.  

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Friends of Marion County Veteran’s Park Foundation, PO Box 744, Silver Springs, Florida 34489.
