James E. “Bunk” Haselden, 77, of Florence, died Wednesday, June 10, 2020. He was born May 17, 1943 in Johnsonville, SC to the late Clem and Aysha Lanning Haselden. He was also was preceded in death by brothers, Ashton, Alfred, Roland, Raleigh, Elliott, Ervin, Charles, Harold and Joe; and two sisters, Ardell Humphries, Irene Venters and Doris H Hartstock; a son, Scott Christopher Turner.
Bunk is survived by his wife, Joyce Ann Price Haselden; five sons, Jamie (Brandi) Haselden of Latta, Phillip (Treva) Haselden of Ohio, Stevie Haselden of Ohio, Steven Turner of Lynchburg, and Rodney Mark (Evelyn) Turner of Hartsville; two daughters, Kimberly Turner and Paula Haselden, both of Dillon; nine grandchildren, Daniel Lee Byrd, Rodney Mark Turner, II, Preston Haselden, Ashton Haselden, Bradley Haselden, Aysha Haselden, Ella Haselden, Lexi Haselden and Trish Nesbitt; a brother, Winston (Linda) Haselden of Johnsonville; three sisters, Stacy Turner, Blanche Dennis, both of Johnsonville and Carolyn Kelly of Lake City; several nieces and nephews and his good friend, Jay Wiggins.
James “Bunk” was a pastor in the Church of God Ministries from 1973 until 1986. After that, he was an insurance agent until 2001 when he retired due to health reasons.
A graveside service, directed by Cain Calcutt Funeral Home, will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, June 14, 2020 at New Hope Cemetery in Johnsonville, SC. Due to COVID-19, social distancing will be observed.
