Henry Lee “Bobby” “Pop” Brown was born September 7, 1950 in Florence County, a son of the late Sarah Brown and the late Albert Lindsey.   He attended the public schools of Florence County, and was a graduate of Wilson High School Class of 1970.   Henry was involved in athletics and played basketball and football.   He attended Allen University in Columbia, South Carolina; and Francis Marion University in Florence, South Carolina.  He was employed with Dupont for 24 years and 6 months and he retired early due to illness. 
Henry is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Charles Clinton, Sr; and a grandson, Russell Gary, Jr.   

He is survived by his loving children; Arthur (Wanda) Brown,  Jimmy (Lynn) Brown of Florence and Chris Brown of Spartanburg, SC, Jermod King of Florence, Joyce Gary of Charlotte, NC, Jocelynn (Gerald) Powell  of Effingham, SC and Maria (Shaun Scott) Brown of Florence, SC.; by his  grandchildren: Joslyn Jackson, Millicent Jackson, Brittany Brown, Leon Brown, Cheney Brown, Nicholas Brown, Shanacia Brown, Sheldon Gary, LeQuentin Gary,  Christopher Brown, Jr., Marlon Brown, Alexus McNair, Jazmin Powell, Jonathan Powell, Gabriel Powell, and Quinton Tiller, Jr.; and 8 great grandchildren.   Henry had a special fondness for Andre Grant, Derrick Grant, Laquentta Grant, Monte Grant, Charles Grant, the late Annie Mae McNeil, Clyde McNeil Jr., the late Rebecca McNeil, the late Samantha McNeil and the late Anthony McNeil. 


In special recognition to Quincy and the late Willie Davis, the late John Burton and the late William C. Davis, who were like stepparents to Henry.   Henry also expressed appreciation and thanks to the late Mr. John Wise, the late Lillian “Mama” and Philip Brown, the late Amelia and Ken Boykin, Tony and Greer Baxley, Willie and Dorothy Lide, the late Edward and Evon Banks and Dianne and Kenneth Williams; these people had a profound impact on Henry’s life in one way or another. 
There are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
