Gerald Edward Shick, Sr.

On Tuesday, January 26th, 2021, Gerald E. Shick Sr, loving father, poppy, pappy, brother, and friend passed away in Florence SC, at the age of 71.

Gerald was born on November 1st, 1949 in East Stroudsburg PA to Julia I. Altemos-Shick-Hillyerd and Gerald S. Shick, both whom have preceded him in death.  Gerald’s siblings are; Herbert Shick, Pamela Lewis, John Hillyerd Jr., and Christie Rolling.

Gerald, a Vietnam Veteran proudly served in the United States military as a member of the United States Coast Guards.

He is most known by everyone for his generous, humble, kind, humorous, but yet stubborn personality.  He liked bowling, watching football, attending and watching NASCAR races, and traveling.    

He is survived by his children and extended children; Susan Shick, Gerald Shick Jr., Stephanie Brown (James), Julianne Howell (Christopher), Tiffany Bright (James), Dustin Shick, Trisha Browning (Nathan), and Danielle Collins.

Gerald is also survived by his grandchildren: Christopher, David, Joshua, Felicia, and Theresa Jones; Leland and Ashlyn Shick; Bryan and Madison Brown; Destiny, Devin, and Hailey Howell; Kayleigh, Adrianna, and James Bright Jr.; Mason and Benjamin Browning; and Gavin Collins.

Gerald will be forever remembered for all the love, special moments, and contributions he has made in the lives of everyone around him.  His wishes are for everyone to remember him as he was, so no funeral is planned.  A memorial in his honor will take place at an undetermined time in the future.
