Frank McGill, 91, of Florence, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at McLeod Regional Medical Center. Mr. McGill Was born in New Haven, CT, a son of the late Leo and Rose Johnson McGill. He was a mechanical genius who was known as “MacGyver” to all his family because he could fix anything. He loved photography and making handcrafted models. Mr. McGill loved his family, especially all of his grandchildren. Frank was a great dad.
He is preceded in death in addition to his parents by a wife, Dorothy Louise Mitchell McGill; a son, Alan McGill; three siblings, Ray McGill, Ruth Johnson and Butch Johnson.
Surviving are three sons, Darin (Sally) McGill, Ron (Cheryl) McGill and Ricky McGill; a daughter-in-law, Julie McGill; eight grandchildren, Sean, Eric, Rick, Jennifer, Duncan, Amanda, Nicholas McGill and Alexandra McGill-Brown; and five great-grandchildren, Natalie, Matthew, Chole McGill, Gabby and Noah Diaz.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 on Friday, May 29, 2020 at Mt Hope Cemetery, directed by Cain Calcutt Funeral Home. Due to current COVID-19 standards we will be observing social distancing. A live stream of the service can be viewed on the Mount Hope Facebook page.
In Lieu of Flowers memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
