Doris Reynolds Obituary

Our beautiful mother, Doris Vereen Reynolds, went to Heaven on February 4, 2021 to be with our Lord and Savior.

Mom was born in Little River, SC, on December 22, 1943.  She was the daughter of Bonnie Lewis and Alma Vaught Vereen.

She moved to Florence to seek fame and fortune, but instead met the love of her life, Donald A. Reynolds.  Together they shared 57 years of marriage which was full of faith, travel, adventures, and lots of laughter.

Our mother’s legacy also includes three daughters, Donna Reynolds Lowman (Roy), DeDe Reynolds Collins (Joe) and Dana Reynolds McAlister (Bill).  She was blessed to have six grandchildren, Ashton Pennstrom (John), Lacy Lowman, Sullivan McAlister, Tripp McAlister, Nick Collins and Maddie Collins.  She was also the proud great-grandmother to Anna Lee, Ella Kate and Charlotte Grace Pennstrom.  Mom is also survived by her sister, Loretta Gottula (Glen) and brothers, Dr. Larry E. Vereen and Jerry Vereen (Arleen).

A graveside service, directed by Cain Calcutt Funeral Home, will be at 2:00 PM on Sunday, February 7, 2021, in the Hopewell Presbyterian Church Cemetery.  The family will speak to those in attendance following the service.

We would like to say a special thank you to MUSC and all of her caregivers.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Hopewell Presbyterian Church, 5314 Old River Road, Florence, SC 29505.
