Debra Jean Llewellyn Leach

Debra Leach lost her battle with cancer and went to be with the Lord, with her family and loved ones by her side, on October 13,2023. Debra was widowed at an early age when the love of her life, Richard Leach, passed away. Debra never found it in her heart to remarry. She is also preceded in death by her parents Johnny & Betty Joyner Llewellyn; a sister, Peggy Colson and a brother, Joseph (Joey) Llewellyn.

She was a loving mother to her only child Gina Spradlin; her son in law, Kris Spradlin, and the doting grandmother to Kristina, Kristopher, and her sweet Kathryn. Being the grandmother “Nanny” to these children meant the world to Debra. It was the first time in her life that she was truly happy after the passing of her beloved Richard. Debra was also adored by her baby brother, John Llewellyn (JT) and his wife, Peggy (Elaine) Llewellyn; her nieces and nephews; and her longtime best friends, Songia and Trisha.

She will be remembered as a loving mother and wife who spoiled her grandchildren without complaint.  A friend that would be there for and that you could count on for anything. An older sister who was always there during times of despair.  A lover of food, especially anything JT cooked. Debra was sweet with a side of country spice!

Debra was a kind-hearted, hard-working, no shoes wearing, resilient woman. She took pride in being able to do anything a man could do. One of her favorite pastimes included cutting the grass of their 4-acre estate with a tractor. She was at peace working and sweating in the yard doing what most would consider a man’s job. She loved a good hard days’ work, a good drink, and a good laugh with friends.

Visitation will be at Cain Calcutt Funeral Home at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 with the funeral service following at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Tabernacle UMC Cemetery in Pamplico.  The family will also receive friends following the services at J.T. And Elaine’s house. 4056 W Pelican Dr. Florence SC 29501.
