David Lee Phillips

David Lee Phillips, 53, of Darlington, SC, passed away on Friday, September 10, 2021 in the McLeod Regional Medical Center.   David was born in Jackson, MS, a son of the late Alvin Cecil and Myrtis Marion Connor Phillips.  His greatest joy was his family and being able to take care of his mother for her last years.  He loved his Canine children and was a member of Emmanuel Ministries Church.  David was always willing to help those around him and that showed by his contracting COVID while giving blood to help patients.

He is preceded in death in addition to his parents by a nephew, Jonathan “Derek” Simmons.

Surviving are three siblings, Anthony Quinn, Karen Lynette (Chip) Little and Crystal Ann Phillips, his companion, Renee Pearson Taylor, nieces and nephew, Amber Renee Devane, Taylor Ann Sheldon, Jacob Collins Devane and Carolyn Mae Quinn and the light of his eye, his great niece, Arya Renee Sheldon.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at Emmanuel Ministries Church, 1531 S Church Street, Florence, SC 29505.  Cain Calcutt Funeral Home is honored to serve the Phillips Family.
