Carlton Jones

Celebrating the life of Carlton Jones, born November 7,1944, passing August 24, 2021.  Carlton married Lizzie Ruth Jones on March 30, 1969. They had two children Dana Jones & Carl Jones

He was a humble man that found God and loved reading the word of God. He lived his best life. He enjoyed fishing and going to the beach. He loved the ocean. He was a giver, he loved to give to others. He loved to work and whatever he did he wanted to be the best at doing it.  We found the word hero in the dictionary: “A person who is idealize for courage, outstanding achievements or noble qualities”. That was Carlton Jones!

In 1959 he attended Bibb County schools Served in the US. Army from Jan 1967 to Jan 1973 where he received honors for the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. 

In Dec 1974 he attended the Bronx Community College, in June 1984 the LA Olympics committee presented him with a gold medallion; in September 1989 he received a USPO Letter of commendation; in March 1990 Douglas Aircraft mechanics; in April 1990 Advance craftsmanship award; in May 1999 Los Angeles College for master mechanics Automotive & related technology award.  He worked as LAUSD bus driver from 2008 to 2021. He completed classes in 2009/2010 for child abuse awareness award,  2010/2011 child abuse awareness award, 2011/2012 child abuse awareness award, 2012/2013 child abuse awareness award, 2014/2015 child abuse awareness award, 2016/2017 child abuse awareness award, 2018/2019 child abuse awareness award and Perfect attendance award, 2008/2009 Perfect attendance, 2009/2010 Perfect attendance, 2011/2012 Perfect attendance,  2013/2014 Perfect attendance, 2015/2016 Perfect attendance, 2017/2018 Perfect attendance, 2018/2019 Perfect Attendance award

Left to cherish his memories are his 7 children; Glenda(Fredrick) Lavender, Dana{Andre) Peoples, Carl(Lisa) Jones, Carlton(Mayleen)Jones, Lisa(Rich) Jones, Tracie(Justin) Jones, and Wayne Huff;  Step children; Demond Jones, Marcus Jones, Howard Jones and Danielle Jones; Grandchildren,  Cierra Lavender, Jervarus Lavender, Joshua Lavender, Cierra(Cedric) Godbolt, Sade (Marque) Dargan, Vanessa Jones, Michael Jones, Jory Jones, Jackson Jones, Faith Jones, Kenneth Jones, Darell Jones, Daquan Jones, Daron Jones, Kenneth Huff, Rosa Huff, Paige Huff, Carl Jr. Jones, Danika Jones, Christon Jones, Naomi Jones, Cevion Jones, Jadis Jones, Mizanne Jones, Kody Jones, Jewel Jones, Izzy Jones, Melicia Jones, Jermarcus Jones, Lamari Jones, Howard Jr Jones, Jamyria Jones; A special Aunt Nettie Lee Brown; A special brother-in-law Floyd White; Two special friends, Pastor Kanty and Ivey Clark;.Two special nephews, Clarence Jones and Greg White; And all of his work family whom he loved very much. A host of Aunts, Uncles, cousins & friends; Great-grands, King, Cedric, Giovanni, Amia Mehki and Mckenzie, Aubree.

The family will hold a graveside memorial service at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 in the Florence National Cemetery.
