Amy Lynn McKay Obituary

Amy Lynn Tedder McKay, age 50 of Florence, passed away on October 30, 2020. She was the beautiful third child of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Cooper Tedder, born November 25, 1969.

Growing up, Amy was an avid softball player. She was nicknamed “Coop” by teammates and traveled in the surrounding areas on many All-Star softball teams. She played with tenacity and perseverance and these qualities were evident throughout her entire life. She truly was an All-Star and continually made her family very proud of her.

Amy was raised in the First Presbyterian Church of Florence. She was active in Sunday school, worship, and youth activities. Amy graduated from South Florence High School. For the last six years she was employed by Assurant in Florence as a Loss Drafts Specialist.

Amy was loved by many in that she had a great big compassionate heart and extended her love and care to others in need. Amy loved her family and friends and was always at her best when surrounded by those who also loved her. Her sons, Caden and Jake, were her greatest joy.

There is no doubt Amy resides today in heaven with our Lord Jesus Christ. We will always remember her beautiful smile, bright blue eyes, magical giggle, and as a woman with a quiet, sweet, and humble spirit.

In addition to her parents, Amy is predeceased by her step son, Brooks Alexander McKay. She is survived by her sons, Caden Cooper and Jake Stevenson along with their father, Johnny McKay, her sister Dawn Tedder Mangum (Danny) and a brother Matthew Streett Tedder (Pamela). Other loved ones include nieces, nephews, and cousins.

“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” -Isaiah 40:31
