Marion was known to family, friends and clients as “Lucky”. Lucky enlisted in the Army in 1971 and served in Germany. Following his time in the Army, he returned to Florence. A second-generation stone cutter Lucky began his stone carving career working at Brown Memorial. A few years later he moved to Denver, Colorado and continued to work in the monument industry. As many monument companies began to produce gravestones in mass production, he decided to open his own studio Architectural Stone. As a gifted artist/sculpture Lucky preferred to work slowly, producing truly unique original monuments, fireplace surrounds, fountains, decorative pieces as well religious pieces for churches in the Denver area.
A loving husband, a devoted son, brother and father, and friend. A private family funeral will be held at Byrd Cemetery, Timmonsvile.
