JoAnn Calafiore Doughty

JoAnn Calafiore Doughty, 59, of Hartsville, SC, passed away on Thursday, August 23, 2018, at McLeod Regional Medical Center.  She was born in Johnstown, PA, a daughter of Michael Calafiore, Sr. and the late Anna Jean Menser Calafiore. 

She received her Bachelor’s degree from the Indiana University of PA and her first Master’s degree from West Virginia University and obtained her second Master’s degree from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary.  She retired after 34 years as a special needs educator.  She loved quilting and was a free-lance seamstress.  JoAnn was a member of Morton Presbyterian Church in Hartsville and was a member of the Toast Masters.

JoAnn is survived by her father; three sons, David (Carolina), Sean and Patrick Doughty; three sisters, Sally Catanese, Nancy Calafiore and Michelle Eichenlaub; a brother, Michael Calafiore, Jr.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 4 PM on Monday, August 27, 2018, at Cain Calcutt Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends immediately following the services at the funeral home. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a classroom teacher of your choice for school supplies.
