Frances Steele Obituary

Frances Elizabeth Steele, 90, of Florence, passed into the care of God on Tuesday, November 20, 2018, after battling Alzheimer’s.  She was born in Ohio, a daughter of the late Henry James Starbuck and Clarice Mayberry Starbuck.  She graduated from Fredonia University in 1950 with a degree in Music.  She spent many years teaching in Western New York.

Frannie, as she was known to all, is survived by her husband of 67 years, Clayton Elmer Steele “Pepper”; son Jeff Steele of Las Vegas; daughter Judy Kibler (Bill) of Houston; and a daughter Joanne Jensen (Keith) of Florence; six grandchildren, Clay, Josh and Carrie Kibler, and Trevor, Ethan and Bryce Jensen.

Frannie had a passion for music which she shared with her family.  She was an avid bird watcher and shell collector.  She spent many days walking the beach in Surfside enjoying these hobbies.  She especially loved playing cards, particularly Bridge, Pinochle and Euchre.  She also liked bowling and dominoes.  Frannie had two beloved Dachshunds, Greta and Tina.

A family led memorial service will be held at The Manor, 2100 Twin Church Road, Florence, on Friday, 11/30/2018 from 3:30 until 5:00 PM.
