Divya Jain

Divya Jain, 54, of Florence, SC, passed away on Friday, July 27, 2018 at the McLeod Regional Medical Center.

Ms. Jain was born in Chapra, Bihar-India, a daughter of the late Sudha Jain and Padam Jain.  In 1985, when she was 21 years old, she decided to move to the United States.  She received her Master’s degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Appalachian State University.  She started her career in Florence with the Department of Disabilities and Special Needs.  She then worked at Florence Darlington Technical College as Director of Upward Bound Program and Student Support Services.  Ms. Jain was the author of the publication “Kiss and Make It Better” and enjoyed doing visual arts with her breast cancer support groups.

Surviving in addition to her father is her daughter, Sona Jain Hardison and a sister, Pragya Jain (Anil) Desai.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, August 4, 2018, in the chapel of Cain Calcutt Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends immediately following the services.  The family has requested that no one wear black to the service as Divya would want everyone to be dressed in jewel colors to celebrate her life.
