Debra Ann ”Debbie” Baird Baker-Scurry, 61, of Florence, passed away on Sunday, July 8, 2018 at McLeod Regional Medical Center. Debbie was born in Florence, SC, a daughter of the late Julian Howard and Mary Louise Christmas Baird. She was an avid reader, loved the outdoors and fishing. She was creative and artistic and loved spending time with her family. Debbie was formerly employed as a medical transcriptionist with Pee Dee Orthopedics.
Surviving are her husband, Thaddeus “Ted” B. Scurry, Jr.; two daughters, Cindy McDougal and Laura (Tommy) Hicks; seven grandchildren, Hannah Sloan McDougal, Tyler (Meagan) Baker, Wyatt Hicks, Josh Hicks, Taylor (Weldon) Gainey, Seth (Brianna) Hicks and Ryan Williams; five great grandchildren, five great grandchildren, Brayden Baker and four others; a sister, Gwen (Earl) Jackson; her best friend, Mary Batchelor; a niece, a nephew and one great-nephew.
Funeral services will be held at 7pm on Thursday, July 12, 2018 in the chapel of Cain Calcutt Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
In Lieu of Flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
