A memorial service for Sylvia S. Martin will be at 4:00 PM, Tuesday March 2, 2010, in Cain Funeral Home conducted by the Pastor Chris Edwards. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service. Memorials may be made to Florence County Humane Society 1007 Stockade Dr. Florence, SC 29506.
Ms. Martin, 61, died Saturday February 27, 2010, at her residence. She was born September 22, 1948 in Florence to the late William E. and Lotta Baxley Martin.
Sylvia was a graduate of McClenaghan High School and USC-Florence. She was the Manager Commercial & Consumer Lending for Peoples Federal Savings and Loan. She then worked for BB&T in Florence and Sumter, retiring in 2007 as a Business Service Assistant. She was a member of Florence Baptist Temple.
Surviving are: daughter, Michelle Guthrie (Bruce) Monson of Florence; sons, William Joshua Guthrie of Florence and Michael Jordan Guthrie of Myrtle Beach, SC; grandchildren, Emily, Skyler, Eden and Gavin.
